Paul Schoeffler

Born in Montreal, Canada, Paul spent his early years in Toronto before moving to England with his family where he had his schooling and subsequently lived in Belgium where he attended the University of Brussels for French. He then moved to California where he received a BA in English at UC Berkeley and began studying voice at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Moving to Pittsburgh to study voice and drama at Carnegie Mellon, he graduated with honors and headed to NYC where he has been working professionally since.

On Broadway he has been seen as Hertz in Rock of Ages (cast album), Vittorio Vidal opposite Christina Applegate in Sweet Charity (cast album), Hook in Peter Pan opposite Cathy Rigby (cast album, filmed for A&E), Cecil B. DeMille in Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Le Bret in Cyrano, Nine, Victor/Victoria and Sunday in the Park with George. Numerous Off Broadway appearances include Wintertime at Second Stage Theatre opposite Marsha Mason, the world premieres of No Way to Treat a Lady (cast album) and Lucifer in Martin Luther on Trial, The Fantasticks, Much Ado About Nothing and The Cherry Orchard. National tours include Javert in Les Miserables and Sheldrake in Promises/Promises.

Regionally he has performed leading roles extensively, including The Count in the world premiere of Phantom by Yeston/Kopit (cast album), Flaminio Scala in the premiere of The Glorious Ones by Ahrens/Flaherty at PPT, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha (Broadway World nomination), and Emil de Becque in South Pacific among other roles as part of eight seasons at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia (2 Barrymore nominations for best actor) and twelve seasons at Sacramento Music Circus. Other theatres where he has performed lead roles include La Mirada (LA Ovation Award nomination for best featured actor), Papermill, TUTS, Goodspeed, The Huntington Theatre in Boston and The Repertory Theatre of St Louis. Paul has also had an extensive voice-over career, having worked for NBC, CBS, CNN, ESPN, National Geographic, The Oxygen Network, four seasons (51 episodes) as multiple characters on Courage the Cowardly Dog for The Cartoon Network and extensive commercial campaigns for among others, Shell Oil, Amstel Light, Campbells, Lysol and Canon.

TV appearances include FBI: Most Wanted, Blacklist, Person of Interest, Law and Order, Midnight Caller, All My Children andGuiding Light. A member of the New York Singing Teacher‘s Association (NYSTA) Paul also teaches voice and coaches privately and has done extensive concert work including Broadway by the Year and Broadway Unplugged at Town Hall in NYC, Broadway Ballyhoo at Feinstein‘s, Broadway in Bryant Park and Symphony Silicon Valley among others.

Best job by far though, is husband to Aixa and dad to two children Ana and Aidan.
